WANTED: Scrapstore Volunteers
Scrapstore Volunteer
Location: Derby Scrapstore, 6–10 Werburgh Street, Derby, DE22 3QG
Hours: Shifts to suit your availability during our opening hours. Our opening hours are Monday–Wednesday 10:00–14:00 & 1st & 3rd Saturday 10:00–14:00.
About Us:
Derby Scrapstore is a charity dedicated to upcycling, creativity, and community. We provide affordable craft materials, run workshops, and support the local community to reduce waste and inspire creativity. We are 100% volunteer-run by a welcoming team of trustees and volunteers.
Role Purpose:
Volunteers help keep the Scrapstore welcoming, organised, and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and provide information about our Scrapstore and how it works
- Maintain a tidy and safe environment in the front-of-house area.
- Help with basic stock organisation and display of materials.
- Occasionally assist with light administrative tasks related to front-of-house operations (training will be provided)
- Once confident and established in the role, support the team by managing the till and processing simple sales transactions (full training provided)
Skills & Qualities:
- Friendly, approachable, and welcoming manner.
- Comfortable handling money and interacting with the public.
- Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Team player, happy to support other volunteers.
